Founded in 1969, the Hawaii Association of Independent Schools (HAIS) is an organization of member schools that advocates on behalf of independent education in Hawaii and participates actively in the educational dialogue in our community. It provides services that strengthen our individual schools, and it supports their efforts to achieve educational quality and excellence for students. HAIS facilitates collaborative efforts among member schools on issues of mutual concern as well as partnerships to address shared needs.

PRIVATE SCHOOL FALL ADMISSIONS FAIRS - September 18 in Honolulu, September 22 at Waipio, and October 13 in Kaneohe
HAIS invites parents and friends to our Fall Private School Admissions Fairs, free informational programs to assist parents in making informed decisions about choosing a school for their child. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet and speak with admissions directors representing many of the private schools in Hawaii.

SCHOOLS OF THE FUTURE CONFERENCE - October 14
Sign-up today for this exciting not-to-be-missed opportunity to hear world-renowned speaker Sir Ken Robinson at the 2010 Schools of the Future Conference, from 7:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. at the Hilton Hawaiian Village in Honolulu. Sir Ken Robinson’s keynote address also will be broadcast via video-stream to Hawaii Preparatory Academy and Kamehameha Schools’ Hawaii and Maui campuses. Creativity expert Sir Ken Robinson challenges the way we're educating our children. He champions a radical rethink of our school systems, to cultivate creativity and acknowledge multiple types of intelligence. This event is open to everyone.
